Talk of the Stacks

I ditched Family Yoga on Tuesday, with a hefty twinge of regret, to see one of my favorite authors, Tom Robbins read from his new children's book about beer at the Central Library in beautiful Downtown Minneapolis.



If you've never read his work, I recommend starting with Still Life with Woodpecker, which has all the princesses, pyramids and pirates you could need. Oh, and sex. Of course.

At 6 I made my way down the Mall to the library, where I lucked out and got a seat near the back, strategically placed under a speaker. I recorded the reading on my crackberry for those of you that couldn't make it, you can listen to it by clicking here . The book sounds incredible, and I'm hoping for a copy to show up on my birthday (hint, hint).
